Unit 5: Public Policy

In each of these 4 types of public policy, there are 4 ways the policy in each is divided. These include: Majoritarian Most or all benefit and pay Examples include fire department, military, school system, and trash collection Client Small group benefits,large amount of people pay Examples include welfare, WIC Interest Group Small amount benefit, Small amount of people pay Examples include tolls, construction permits Entrepreneurial Many benefit, small amount of people pay Examples include Adopt a Spot,Chesapeake Bay Protection		There are 4 basic types of public policy: Foreign Policy dealing with nations outside of the United States that affect the US Social Welfare Policy created to benefit those who can not provide for themselves Economic Two Types Keynesian Economics- when demand is low, the govenment should spend more money or cut taxes Laissez-Faire Economics- Economic stability should be free from government control Environmental Policy that is related to or involving aspects of nature. Policy created to protect the enviroment against human destruction.
